Interviewee Background Information
A standard JSU oral-history intake form, filled out in Dr. Rodgers's own hand at age 79. Two entries on this sheet — a city council election year of 1950 and a 1951 march on Washington — don't match the record established elsewhere on this site (he was elected to the council in 1968, and no other source confirms a march on Washington). We show the form exactly as he filled it out rather than silently correct it; see Sources & Research for the open questions this raises.
